Megan Ellen MacDonald creates old masters influenced oil paintings that dismantle, reconstruct, and subvert the visual imagery of masculine power in painting. Her work intersects the realms of beauty and kitsch - creating spaces and arrangements that reference the grandeur of classical art while placing symbols of femininity and whimsical subject matter in positions of importance. MacDonald, who is currently based in Toronto, ON, graduated from OCADU in 2013 and has exhibited work in Canada and the US.
